DEM simulation of chute abrasion with dragforce - showcase for correct coarse graining
This video shows the DEM simulation of chute abrasion usingFinnie wear model and a (simplified) Schiller-Naumann drag law which is calculated based on a steady-state gas flow field.
In the original system (un-coarse-grained) 3700 particles / sec are inserted. A coarse-graining factor of cg = 2 was applied, reducing the mass-flow rate to 462 particles /sec (by factor 8)
